REQUEST TO GOD

Dear God,

Help me let go of the things I so desperately want to hold on to.

Help me let go of all the sadness, the bitterness and anger, the depression, the regrets, the hurt and pain, the past…everything that does not make me strong…and help me, instead, to hold on to you with all that I have and all that I am.

THE ROOT OF EVERYTHING IS LOVE

If you keep silent- keep silent out of love.
If you speak-speak out of love.
If you warn someone about something-warn them out of love.
If you forgive-forgive out of love.
…Let the internal root of everything be love, from this root only good can grow.
 St. Augustine

“The things that we love tell us what we are.”

WHAT YOU SOW YOU REAP

theraccolta:

Prayer to St. Camillus de Lellis for the Sick Poor
O glorious Saint Camillus, special patron of the sick poor, thou who for forty years, with truly heroic charity, didst devote thyself to the relief of their temporal and spiritual necessities, be pleased to assist them now even more generously, since thou art blessed in heaven and they have been committed by Holy Church to thy powerful protection. Obtain for them from Almighty God the healing of all their maladies, or, at least, the spirit of Christian patience and resignation that they may sanctify them and comfort them in the hour of their passing to eternity; at the same time obtain for us the precious grace of living and dying after thine example in the practice of divine love. Amen.

Brother if you commit a sin, and take pleasure in it, the pleasure passes away but the sin remains.
But if you do something virtuous, even though you are tired, the tiredness passes away  but the virtue remains

—Saint Camillus de Lellis

HOPE AND COURAGE IN THE SERVICE OF CHRIST

Start being brave about everything.
Drive out darkness and spread light.
Don’t look at your weaknesses.
Realize instead that in Christ crucified you can do everything.

GOD

"Just believing in God isn’t enough. Get to know Him"

"No matter how low you’ve gone, God can still rewrite your story. Let Him make a bestseller out of you."

SOME DAY GOD WILL JUDGE YOU

"One day as the saint was going along the banks of the river Po, he met a young man, Anthony Mary courteously saluting him, stopped, and fixing his eyes on him with a countenance grave but full of sweetness said: "I wish, my son, you would think well over the affairs of your salvation and arrange them while there is yet time, for my heart tells me you will be called from this world much sooner than you think." At this time the youth was in perfect health moreover strong and robust, nevertheless, struck by this unexpected advice, he, there and then, made his confession to the saint with sincere repentance for his faults. Well it was for him that he did so, for the next day he was called to appear before the judgment seat of God, having met his death by a terrible accident." - Illustrated Life of St. Antonio M. Zaccaria; Founder of the Barnabites and of the Angeliche, Apostle of the Quarant’Ore

JESUS CALLING

But the great thing to remember is that, though our feelings come and go, His love for us does not.

Come close to Me and let My Light envelop you, driving out darkness and permeating you with Peace.

SATAN'S HATE FOR US

The lesson of the fallen angels is a sobering gift for us.

It should help us realize just how good and generous God is to us fallen human beings

It should remind us that Satan and his demons hate us and literally burn with hellish envy.

It should remind us that in their rebellious rage, they would like nothing more than to have us lose the gift that they once coveted.
It should remind us that they would like nothing more than to drag us down with them “into the depth of the pit,” that they’d like nothing more than to get back at God by preventing him from raising us up to the thrones of glory that Lucifer had so perversely cherished.

JESUS OUR SOLID ROCK

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash. - Matthew 7:24-27

Something you can be sure of in this life are storms. I’m not talking just about the weather either, but the storms of life. Illness, relationship breakdown, financial ruin… you know what I’m talking about. No matter how much we build up, and prepare and do to prevent the storms from battering our lives personally, the elements are always stronger than our own strength. Jesus teaches us to build our lives on Him, The Solid Rock. He assures us that no matter what comes against us, if we make Him the foundation, He will ensure our life stands. When the winds and rains come, it can make us feel insecure, but be assured, below you is a Solid Rock. A foundation that has stood the test of time and one that assures us of an eternal future. He says “I will build my church (churches are people NOT buildings - and you are His people!) and the gates of hell will not prevail against it!”. No matter where you find yourself today make sure that Jesus is the foundation for your life. Build your life around Him. You’re building on a tried and tested (Jesus was tried and tested on the cross) foundation that can overcome anything this life can throw at you.

GOD' MERCY

What happens to a drop of water when flicked into a raging furnace? The same thing that happens when our sins are surrendered to his mercy

"All the sins of your life seem to be rising up against you. Don’t give up hope! On the contrary, call your holy mother Mary, with the faith and abandonment of a child. She will bring peace to your soul."
—St. Josemaria Escriva

SACRED HEART (3)

The voice of Jesus.
Come then, My Child, prepare a neat dwelling-place for Me in thy heart, and I, when I come, will be wholly thine, and thou shalt be wholly Mine; and there shall exist a wonderful intimacy between us, and a union known only to those who have tried it by experience.
The voice of the Disciple.
I beg and beseech Thee, Lord, create a clean heart in me, and renew a right spirit in my interior.
My whole heart is defiled with uncleanness: and from the heart, infection has spread over the powers of my soul, and over the senses of my body. Alas! O Lord! what is there in me without blemish, or altogether pure?
Send forth, I beseech Thee, the light of Thy grace, and illumine my mind; that I may know, and bewail, all the evil I have done, and the good which I have neglected.
O how I regret, sweetest Jesus, that I have dishonoured Thy dwelling-place in so unworthy a manner, that I have displeased Thee, that I have saddened Thy Heart! I grieve, O my supreme Good: I lament and abhor all my sins: I avow my malice and my ungratefulness: I implore the mercy of Thy Heart.
Lord, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean: wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Yea, from hidden offences, and from those not my own, purify my heart…
Come, Jesus, enter my heart, and make for Thyself a scourge with the cords of holy fear, of lively gratitude, and of pure love, and drive out all them that defile this Thy dwelling.
Behold, henceforth I will give admittance to none of them: Thy house shall be called a house of prayer: in it, I will worship Thee; in it, I will love Thee; in it, I will occupy myself with Thee alone.
Imitation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Chapter VI
The voice of Jesus.
Come then, My Child, prepare a neat dwelling-place for Me in thy heart, and I, when I come, will be wholly thine, and thou shalt be wholly Mine; and there shall exist a wonderful intimacy between us, and a union known only to those who have tried it by experience.

SACRED HEART OF JESUS

The voice of Jesus.
Woe to the world, My Child: woe to the heart that clings to its allurements and its vanities!
For the world will continue to infect thy heart, will doubtless pervert, and finally betray thee into the power of the demon.
What can there be in common between the world and My Heart, since the world, either openly or secretly, favours every vice; whilst My Heart breathes naught, except what is holy?
Blessed is he, My Child, who withdraws his affections from the things of the world, and consecrates them to Me alone!
The voice of the Disciple.
O Lord, how foolishly have I acted! how wickedly have I lived! A willing dupe, I have been misled by the false appearances of pleasure, of riches, of honor; I have forsaken Thee, to make myself a slave of the world, Thy enemy.
Alas! good Jesus! even after, seized with a great dread of Thy judgment and fear of Hell, I had resolved to lead a good life! Into what fatal illusion did I fall! how banefully did I go astray!
I divided my heart between Thee and the world: I wished, at one and the same time, to serve Thee and the world.
O! how great an insult did I offer to Thee, when I placed Thee on an equality with the world! I pleased neither the world nor Thee: and, meanwhile, I was most wretched, because, not being satisfied with the world, nor with Thee, I found true happiness in neither.
But now that Thou didst open my eyes, and move my heart, behold! O Lord Jesus, I will serve Thee alone: I give my whole heart to Thee forever.
Take out of my heart, I beseech Thee, all affection for the world: change for me all its apparent sweets into real bitterness. So fill me with the delight of Thy love, that the world, with all its vanities, become tasteless to me.
Imitation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Chapter XVI
