NO DIALOGUE WITH THE DEVIL

There Can Be No Dialogue with the Devil

“There can be no dialogue with the prince of this world: let this be clear! Today, dialogue is necessary among us humans, it is necessary for peace. … But with that prince, it is impossible to dialogue; one can only respond with the Word of God who defends us, for the world hates us—and just as he did with Jesus, so will he do with us. ‘Only look,’ he will say, ‘just do this one small little scam…it is a small matter, nothing really.” And so he begins to lead us on a road that is slightly off. This is a pious lie: ‘Do it, do it, do it: there is no problem,’ and it begins little by little, always, no? Then [he says]: ‘But…you’re good, you’re a good person—You [get away with] it.’ It is flattering—and he softens us by flattery: and then, we fall into the trap.”

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you…..James 4:7

PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE HOLY MOTHER

Let us run to Mary, and, as her little children,

cast ourselves into her arms with a perfect

confidence.

THE GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT

"To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek Him the greatest adventure; to find Him, the greatest human achievement."

OBEDIENCE

Obedience is a penance of reason, and, on that account, a sacrifice more acceptable than all corporal penances and mortifications.
St. John of the Cross

HOLY MOTHER, WE NEED YOUR HELP DESPERATLY.

CRACKED POTS

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7

Humans are like clay pots with cracks; we are broken and imperfect. Yet, just as God seeks us out in all our imperfection, in ancient times, people sought out cracked clay pots because they made the best lanterns – the cracks allowed a candle to shine through and light their way. Let God shine through the cracks in your life and illuminate the way for yourself and others.

Each of us has our own flaws. We’re all cracked pots. God chooses these cracked pots to put His treasure (the Holy Spirit) so that people will know the light within is Him and not us. Let God shine through the cracks in your life!

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Famed author and speaker Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, shares:
My fellow Marian Fr. Seraphim Michalenko sometimes tells a story that a priest ministering in Japan shared with him in Rome. This priest was attending an international gathering of Christians from across the world, attended by foreign dignitaries. The ambassador from Japan approached the priest, verified that the priest served in Japan and was a Catholic priest, and then said, “War is your fault.”

The priest was surprised and asked what the ambassador meant. The ambassador said, “You Catholics, all of you — we do not have peace in the world. It is your fault.”

The priest said, “Ambassador, why do you blame us?”

The ambassador said, “I’ve read about this. The Lady came to you at Fatima, right? That’s what you believe? She told you what to do to secure peace in the world. Well, there’s no peace in the world, so obviously you Catholics haven’t done it.”

The priest had to acknowledge that the ambassador was correct, but still tried to protest, saying, “Isn’t peace everyone’s responsibility?”

The ambassador was vehement. “No, she came to you Catholics. Not to Buddhists. Not to Hindus. She came to you, and it is your responsibility.”

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

GIVE GOD A CHANCE

If you let Him, if you give God your fiat, He will do for you what He did for the repentant thief.

TRUST GOD

So many times we get lost in our struggles instead of getting lost in God. There will always be a new struggle. Circumstances will always change. People may come and go. But God is constant, consistent, always with you and never failing. He created you with the choice to choose Him no matter what it looks like around you. Living a peaceful life doesn’t mean living an easy life, it just means you know who’s in control. Trust God.

PRESENCE OF GOD

Where are You?

People often ask “Where is God in my life?” The best response I can give is to ask “Where are you? – that’s where God is.” In this way prayer can be something very practical and steeped in where we really live. In brief, we recognise the divine within ourselves, rather than trying to engage a God “out there” somewhere!

…….. Fr J J O’Leary “Where are You?”

God is here – right here – in the world that I know, in my everyday experience. How wonderful!

Where do you feel the presence of God most strongly in your life right now?

LORD HOW CAN I FORGET?

You are the One who took all my broken pieces and made a mosaic. You are the One who has stayed by my side even when no one else would. You are the One who gives me rest when I’m aching, and gives me peace when my mind wanders. You are the One who gives me power to overcome the problems I create for myself. You are the One who fills my life with joy, and surrounds my heart with love. I love you for all You’ve done, all You are doing, and for everything You have yet to do.
